Today every organization is trying to improve their work with the help of Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence and so does the gaming industry. The relationship between AI and games is nothing new. IBM’s chess-playing computer Deep Blue defeating world-champion chess player Gary Kasparov 23 years ago is perhaps the most famous example but this relationship keeps on going deeper and deeper with time.

All the Gaming Companies uses AI now-a-days to increase their user’s gaming experience and all over texturing of the games, one such company we are going to see which uses AI is UBISOFT. They are using AI in various stages of game development like from Surrounding Animation to Walking Animation, Creating Bots and many more.

When an animator creates a world to make it look real and doing all the clean-ups, it takes more than 3 hours for him to do that, but with the help of AI it can be done within few minutes. Since, humans require lot of focus and time to re-render the environment to detect the flaws, AI can do that very easily and can save lot of time. It helps the animator to finish their work early and to focuses on next part.

Similarly, AI helps in assisting game developers in walking animation. Instead of monitoring or re-creating the lips and sync it with the wordings which can be done via AI, the game developers focuses more on creating or thinking more about the creative aspects of the game and how to make the game more interactive with the players.

AI helps in making the game better but it can never reach the human intelligence which makes the game more fun and interactive to play. AI is good in imitating or doing the repetitive tasks. Since, AI requires data to predict and create something but it can never re-create a real-time scenario as the data provided by humans have some error in one way or another. AI can help in creating a open world game and can add more features to it and it can also simulates the animations created, to help the developers to know what can be added or deleted.

Game developers with the help of experienced people can create the game more fun. With the knowledge of those guys can help the developers to develop more real scenario tuned by AI. As the Executive Director of Production Studios Services, Jacquier says, “I think that it goes both ways, working with people who have a great knowledge of how real systems work and having us on the simulation side of the equation presents a win-win situation. They will be able to test their systems faster and we’ll be able to learn a lot from them to make games more interesting and realistic”.

The future of AI in game development is full of possibilities, the real world AI and the game AI will make a huge impact on the future and it can also make a world a better place to live.
